RedBird Design Process

RedBird has renovated and designed hundreds of homes in the Washington, D.C. metro area with the perfect balance of style and function. We are committed to our clients and to a final product that is stylish, livable, and a source of pride.

We understand how daunting the design and renovation process can be and how hard it is to know where to start. RedBird ReDesign is here to help you transform your house into a home you love. We make great design attainable with a straightforward process, saving you time and money by getting it right the first time. Our approach is one of sincere collaboration between the homeowner and the designer. Consider us your go-to partner for whatever home design projects are in your sights.

1. Initial Meeting and Home Visit

This is a 60-minute meeting to discuss your design needs, what you love and don't love about your space, and your goals and budget. We will measure and take photos so we have everything we need to hit the ground running when you are ready to start.

2. Proposal

We will prepare a detailed scope of work describing each task and product and will provide a quote for the project. RedBird delivers a clear design plan for you to implement at your own pace.

3. Space Planning

We draw up floor plans to illustrate placement of furniture, lighting, and décor. For additions and kitchen and bath renovations, we prepare concept drawings to help plan out and visualize the space. 2d and 3d digital images help you picture each room.

4. Design Concept

Influenced by your desired style and the function of the space, we create a design concept with a color palette, furnishings, materials, and décor. We source specific pieces based on your preferences and budget.

5. Presentation

We present you with a shopping list of new items and a mood board to illustrate our recommended combination of furniture, materials, lighting, paint, and accessories for your space. We provide links to products and a Pinterest board with additional choices. For renovations, we coordinate shopping trips to guide selection of materials such as flooring, tile, and counters.

6. Follow Up

RedBird continues to provide support as you make decisions and purchases. For projects involving construction, this could also include contractor coordination and project management.
